Electrician Quote Template
Electrical work is priced in more ways than almost any other trade. A consumer unit upgrade is normally a fixed-price job, a full or partial rewire is usually worked out per point, and fault finding is sold by the hour or as a set diagnostic fee. Your quote needs to show which basis applies to each part of the work, so the customer understands how the total was reached and you are protected if the scope changes after acceptance.
This template is laid out for the way electricians actually price. There are per-point lines for sockets, lights and switches on rewire work, separate lines for the consumer unit, cable, containment and accessories, and labour split into first fix, second fix and final testing. Certification gets its own line too. Notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations, such as a new circuit or a consumer unit change, requires an Electrical Installation Certificate and Building Control notification, and domestic customers increasingly check for NICEIC or equivalent scheme registration before booking. Stating clearly that testing, certification and notification are included in the price removes one of the most common objections before the job starts.
State a validity period of 30 days, because cable and accessory prices move quickly, then download the template in Word or PDF below, or build the quote online and save it as a PDF straight from your browser.

Should an electrician quote per point or per job?
Both have their place. Rewires and additions are usually priced per point, so a price per socket, light or switch, because the work repeats and scales predictably. Consumer unit upgrades, EV charger installs and fault finding suit a fixed price or a set fee. Many quotes mix the two, with per-point lines for the wiring and fixed lines for the board, testing and certification.
Does Part P notification belong on an electrical quote?
Yes, if the work is notifiable. New circuits, consumer unit changes and work in bathrooms all require Building Control notification under Part P of the Building Regulations in England and Wales. If you are registered with NICEIC or an equivalent competent person scheme you can self-certify, and saying so on the quote tells the customer the paperwork is handled.
How long should an electrician quote be valid for?
Thirty days is standard for domestic work. Cable, consumer units and EV charge points have all seen sharp price movements, so a stated validity date stops you being held to a figure that no longer covers the materials.
Can I edit the electrician quote template?
Yes. Download the Word version to change the wording, add your logo and adjust the sections, or use the free online quote generator to build the same document in your browser and save it as a PDF.
