Three tips for garage invoices

  • Record mileage on collection

    The mileage on the invoice ties the work to the car and the date. It helps with any later guarantee claim and with the next service reminder.

  • Write the advisories down

    Tyres near the limit or a weeping shock absorber: note what you saw but were not asked to fix. It shows you told the customer and protects you if it fails later.

  • Note when extras were agreed

    If the customer approved extra work by phone, add the time it was agreed. It is the detail that ends most arguments at the counter.

What are advisories?

Problems you noticed but were not asked to repair, such as worn tyres or a small leak. They print in their own box on the invoice, so the customer has a written record that you told them.

How do I turn the invoice into a PDF?

Click Download PDF. Your browser's print dialog opens with only the invoice visible. Choose Save as PDF as the destination, then print it or attach it to an email.
